Roasted Flax Seed Recipe
1 cup Flax seed (I use Golden Valley Flax from Hylden Farms of North Dakota and buy at Dans Supervalu.)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spread the flax seed on a rimmed half (12 ¾” X 17 ¾”) baking sheet. Roast for 27 minutes. But keep in mind that ovens vary. I would set the timer for 25 minutes and check for a golden brown color and delicious roasted smell. If they are not done enough, they will stick to your teeth rather than cracking and tasting wonderful.
I store them in an airtight container and prefer leftover Talenti containers. I use them over weeks to a month. If they get rancid, they smell like paint, so you will know.
