Crunchies, Nuts, and Seeds

In addition to my breakfast smoothie, I have a combination of nuts and seeds that keep my system happy.  Going without this combination for several days in a row has proven to be a problem, so I try to avoid that.  Also, the fruit smoothie leaves me a bit hungry, and this combination fills me up. Joel Fuhrman in his book Eat to Live says the most nutritious foods are fruit and vegetables, nuts, beans and seeds.  I agree that per calorie, these are the most nutritious foods.  They are full of vitamins, minerals, mono saturated fats, energy and fiber.  So, I have a daily addition of crunchies, nuts and seeds, for lots of reasons, if you know what I mean.

Marlo, on the other hand, prefers a handful of almonds with his fruit smoothie and that works well for him.  We all have differences and we each have to figure out what works best.

I have the fruit smoothie right after our morning run, and have the crunchies a little later, often in hand as I head out the door.  Here’s the combination recipe.

Thank you for reading this.  Ask me anything.  I mean it, anything.
